To commemorate Singapore’s 50th birthday as well as 10 years of Emergenetics in Asia Pacific in the year 2015, we partnered with Emergenetics Associates to make a direct contribution to leaders, managers and volunteers of some 50 non-profit and charitable organisations in Singapore that are doing amazing work to make a difference to the wider Singaporean community. Titled “ Emergenetics Impact SG50”, this ground-up community initiative by Emergenetics International-Asia Pacific brought together corporate trainers, Organisation Development consultants, and Human Resource practitioners, to benefit the non-profit sector of Singapore through their combined experience and expertise in human capital and organisation development.
Throughout the year of 2015 (and extending also into 2016), a total of 50 programmes with a combined gross value of over of a quarter million Singapore dollars, directly made a difference to close to one thousand leaders, managers, and volunteers from 50 different charities, Voluntary Welfare Organisations, and non-profit groups that are collectively contributing to making Singapore a better society. Their work collectively span across domains including youth, elderly, religion, environment, special needs, volunteerism, and more.
In appreciation of the effort, generosity and contribution of the Emergenetics associates who partnered us in this inaugural community initiative, we organised a special appreciation event to be held at The Future Of Us Exhibition at Gardens By The Bay, the culmination of all SG50 celebrations. We are honoured that the Guest-of-Honour will be Minister for Social and Family Development, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, who will be presenting Certificates of Appreciation to all partnering Associates, as well as to have a dialogue with some 100 leaders from the business, community and government sectors on the changing landscape of social and family development, and how corporate organisations and leaders can continue to make a difference in the years ahead.
We would like to express our appreciation and thanks to all the Emergenetics Associates who have partnered us to make a difference, all the benefitting organisations for trusting us and opening up their organisations to us and our associates so we may make a difference, as well as the following for supporting our community initiative, without whom, this initiative and the appreciation event would not have been possible:

"The Future of Us" exhibition is an immersive and multi-sensory experience that offers a glimpse into the possibilities of how Singaporeans can live, work, learn and care in the future. The exhibition hopes to encourage Singaporeans to share their hopes and dreams for themselves, their family and the nation, and to participate in steering the Singapore journey towards the future. It is the capstone event to round up Singapore’s SG50 year of celebrations, and will run from 1 December 2015 to 8 March 2016.

Melody believes that visual is a powerful tool to convey ideas, capture information and promote understanding with our colleagues, co-workers and stakeholders. She is a graphic recorder who captures in real time the gist of presenters' presentations and participants' discussion. Her graphic recordings allow participants to visualise the discussions and conversations, which increase learners' involvement and participation. She has done several graphic recordings for conferences, seminars, workshops and community projects. We thank Melody for volunteering to graphically capture the discussion points of the Leadership Dialogue with Minister Tan Chuan-Jin.
