YMCA for the Emergenetics Impact SG50 Initiative
On 20 October 2015, Emergenetics Associates Ng Choon Seng and Colin Yeow conducted a full-day Meeting of the Minds (MOTM) workshop for YMCA. The 37-strong team received their own individual Emergenetics Profile and experienced the applications of their profiles amongst their colleagues and peers. It was an energetic workshop where the participants were immersed in the activities that helped them to reveal their thinking and behavioural preferences.
The workshop also helped the team realise that each individual is different and that using communication strategies was key to meaningful working relationships. This proved useful for the members of YMCA, as they now use the tool to help better communicate with one another in their everyday work.
“The course revealed the diversity within the department, and how we can appreciate and leverage one another’s strengths. It helps us be more aware of the differences in each other and teaches us how to communicate with each other more effectively.”
Sharon Chan- Assistant Manager
“With this knowledge, I am able to tap on the strengths of each member during the implementation of a project”
– Mariana Othman, Youth counsellor
The team was also introduced to the Emergenetics+ App which allowed the participants to continually practise what they have learnt in their daily work. The app served as a useful tool where they can immediately view their own profiles and read up on communications strategies with their peers based on their thinking and behavioural preferences.
“Loved the app as it serves as a continuation of the training programme”
– Yvonne Teo, Executive
