The Day of a First-Time Dad

This year, we welcomed a new addition to our team – The Lim team! My wife and I welcomed our first born, Celeste, into the family in early March this year. Our lifestyles have changed drastically with a baby on board – feeding her at all hours of the day, changing her diapers and getting used to an entirely different sleep schedule.

Being a first time dad, I have many feelings and thoughts going through my head in any given day. There are certainly joys in fatherhood, as there are many moments of wonder when taking care of my little one.

Here’s a sneak peek into a day in the life of Celeste Lim and the secret thoughts that run through my head.

 

5:30 AM

Baby Celeste: Good morning world! I’m up and ready to play! Daddy & Mummy, why are you still in bed? Let’s GO!

Amos: Nooooo, why are you up? Go to sleep, go to sleep…

 

7:00 AM

Baby Celeste: Micro nap time; I only nap for 30 mins.

Amos: You are up already? I just spent 15 minutes trying to put you to bed and you wake up in 5 minutes!

 

9:00 AM

Baby Celeste: Milk time!

Amos: …

 

10:00 AM

Baby Celeste: Shower, yay!

Amos: Please don’t pee on me, please don’t pee on me, please don’t pee on me…

 

11:00 AM

Baby Celeste: Wait, what do you mean sleep again? I have already slept today!

Amos: Why won’t you sleep? I have already sung ‘Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty’ 19747623 times!

 

12:00 NN

Baby Celeste: Mummy & Daddy needs to run errands, so I get to go out!

Amos: It’s a secret ploy to get the baby to sleep.

 

3.00PM

Baby Celeste: Nap time again.

Amos: Finally, some me time!

 

5.00PM

Baby Celeste: Play time! I love it when people read to me!

Amos: This hungry caterpillar sounds like me. I would like some of that ice-cream and cake and cheese and fruits!

 

7.30PM

Baby Celeste: Ok, now I’m sleepy and am all ready to sleep. *yawns*

Amos: Good night little one, sweet dreams, my love.
