Associate Gatherings in Tokyo & Kobe, Japan

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it.

This quote by American journalist, Margaret Fuller speaks through to the heart of what we believe at Emergenetics. Knowledge is indeed meant to be shared with others.

It was thus wonderful to see our associates across the world come together to exchange learning. Our Country Representative team in Japan, Emergenetics International – Japan (EGI-J), conducted not one, but two associate meetings earlier this year – one in Tokyo and the other in Kobe, Japan.

The meetings were organised to gather associates from across the cities to share updates, learn new knowledge and to get to know each other better to build a strong community of associates.

Masa Kagawa, CEO of EGI-J Co., Ltd. kick-started the meetings with a warm welcome to all the associates present. Shinya Nakao, Strategic Advisor of EGI-J, then shared his experiences of the Emergenetics Brain Summit which he had attended in Assisi, Italy last year. He shared what he had learnt from leading experts in the field of Emergenetics during the summit, as well as associates from around the world whom he met during his stay.

He also facilitated the activity ‘The Paper Tower’ which he had learnt from the Advanced Certification programme in Assisi. The task was to build the tallest tower using just paper in their WEteams! This proved to be not only fun for the participants, but also showcased a myriad of learning points for the facilitators to reflect on.

What a brilliant way to cement our learnt through application!

EGI-J too had some good news to share. Koichi Okamoto, Chief Operating Officer of EGI-J, updated the associates on a new Associate Level system which will be implemented by end of the year. This system will help associates to achieve goals and move forward in their work in Emergenetics.

The associates were pleased with the gatherings, the learning they had gained as well as the camaraderie felt amongst fellow associates.

As their meetings came to a close, they celebrated together with a hearty meal and great conversations as part of their New Year gathering, known as “Shinenkai” which are commonly held in Japan. Shinenkai, of course, includes a good food and drinks which the team truly enjoyed after two hours of learning!

A wonderful way to share. Thank you team EGI-J for inspiring us with the work you do!
