We are making a difference, bigger and better, and we want you and your team to come join us!

We are gathering as many teams as possible from various organisations, companies, families, friends and more in Singapore to come walk with us and fundraise bowls of rice to help underprivileged families to live and eat healthily.

We believe that individuals coming together, bringing their unique talents and diverse backgrounds, can make waves of difference through the spirit of teamwork. With great teams, we can achieve greater impact.

In this Walk for Rice – TEAM edition, we are calling out to:

  • Corporate companies, MNCs, SMEs, start-ups, departments
  • Non-profit organisations, government agencies, partners
  • Friends, comrades, buddies, NSmen
  • Families, big and small!

to form teams and walk 5km with us at SAFRA Punggol for one afternoon.

SAFRA Punggol is a clubhouse under SAFRA, an organisation dedicated to the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), which offers a host of activities, value-added services and membership perks that meet the lifestyle needs of the community of more than 350,000 SAFRA members. Is there a fee for participating in this event?
There is no fee in participating in this event. Rice is graciously sponsored by NTUC FairPrice.

My team and I are interested to be part of this initiative. Do I have to register for each of my team mates?
We will only need one representative of the team to register. The rest of your team can simply come to the event itself!

My team and I are representing a company. What do we need to do in preparation for the event?
All you need to do is to come to the event as a team! You may want to showcase your company or brand with your company t-shirts to show the unity of your team.

Why do I need to provide my organisation’s corporate logo?
We will be featuring participating brands and organisations on our website, so that more organisations can be inspired by the contribution that you are offering.

I am not representing any organisation but my family and friends are interested to go. Is that possible?
No worries. We welcome families and friends to be part of this event. Select one member to be a representative for the group of you to register, and you’re ready to walk!

I’m interested to join in but I can’t gather 10 people to join me! Can we still be part of this event?
It’s okay if you can’t gather 10 people to come, you are still welcome! Come down to SAFRA Punggol and be part of the fun.

I'm raring to go! What do I need to bring?
That's great! You don't have to bring much - just simply bring your colleagues, family and friends along with you! Be sure to dress comfortably with comfortable shoes for the walk. We recommend sports attire. And yes, please bring water bottles as it's important to stay hydrated.

Terms and Conditions

EVENT

  1. SAFRA Punggol and Emergentics Asia Pacific Present FairPrice Walk for Rice 2017: Team Edition’ (“the event”) is organised by SAFRA Punggol, Emergenetics Asia Pacific and South East Community Development Centre (“Organisers”) in conjunction with various official partners.
  2. There is no participation fee for joining the event. The participant agrees that any costs incurred while participating in the event is solely to be borne by the participant.
  3. By participating in the event, the participant agrees that they are over the age of 18 years or, if under the age of 18 years, have their parent or legal guardian’s consent to be part of this event.
  4. By participating in the event, the participants agree to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner throughout the event and agree not to obstruct, injure, or otherwise harass fellow participants and its official partners’ employees.
  5. Participants agree to take reasonable precaution and safety measures while participating in the activity.
  6. Each participant agrees to grant Organisers the nonexclusive and royalty free transferrable license to publish, promote, copy, reproduce, transmit, display, edit, adapt, modify, create derivative works of and/or otherwise distribute the participants works and photos for the promotion and publicity of the event; in any manner, format, or media known or later devised, in perpetuity, including and without limitation to online platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
  7. The event Organisers have the right to refuse groups, organisations and affiliations that advocate and practise hatred, hostility, or violence towards members of a race, ethnicity, nation, religion, political ideology, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other designated sector of society.
  8. Participants agree to be contacted by the Organisers to facilitate the success of the event.

LIABILITIES

  1. By participating in the event, the participant agrees not to hold Organisers and its official partners responsible in any manner whatsoever for any problems or any financial costs incurred, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other persons related to or resulting from participation in this event.
  2. By participating in the event, the participant agrees not to hold the Organisers and/or its official partners legally liable for any accident, loss, injury, or damage to any individual or property, whether directly, indirectly, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary, whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise arising out of or in connection with the event, either during or after the event.
  3. By participating in the event, the participant agrees that no claim relating to any losses or injuries (including special, indirect, and consequential losses) shall be asserted against the Organisers, its directors, officers, employees, or official partners, from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind resulting in relation to the event, including and without limitation to, personal injuries, death, and property damage.
  4. The event Organisers reserves the right to amend, revise, change these terms and conditions from time to time.
